Different Welding Methods

TIG Welding

Gas Welding

If you use a gas welder, then you need fuel gases or liquid fuels and oxygen to weld or cut metals. Gas welding is ideal to use in unideal environments such as outdoors or windy areas. Heating is gas welding is slow and larger areas are affected and so the weld is not so strong and no so high in quality. You can use gas welding for welding thin materials or when doing simple repairs. The base material does not dilute much.

Electron Beam Welding

A beam of high-velocity electrons is used to join materials with electron beam welding. Energy and heat are imparted when electrons collide with the surface. With this type of welding, the highest quality of welding is produced which is exceptionally accurate. But training and equipment are hard to come by and very expensive. Welding jobs that require extreme precision uses this type of welding method. Examples would be nuclear welds and spacecraft.

Plasma Arc Welding

Plasma arc welding is a type of welding similar to TIG except that you don’t separate the beam and gas envelope. if you are welding tiny areas, then this type of welding should be used. This type of welding needs more concentration than other types of welding. The aircraft manufacturing industry uses this type of welding. The high rate of accuracy of this type of welder and its use in extreme temperatures is an advantage of this type of welding. It also has the ability to create deeper welds.

Stick welding is the most basic type of welding used. This method is useful for basic welding jobs.
